Week of October 18 AND October 25!

Sorry for being behind by a week!
Last week we were working on the letter Aa and our graphing skills.  We covered the sight words "at" "my" and "name."

Tuesday was our apple-rific day!  We used our 5 senses to explore apples including their scent and taste.  We enjoyed yellow, red and green apple slices and graphed our favorite kinds.  We also enjoyed drinking apple cider.  We read numerous books about how apples grow and took the time to draw seeds in our very own paper apples.  It was a wonderful day!

This week we will be working on the letter Dd.  In math we will continue to work on our graphic skills as well as the numbers 6 and 7.  We will start counting by 10's- be sure to ask your child about our counting by 10's song.  There are hand motions, too!!
Our Halloween parade and party will be this Friday.  This week I will be sending home a form asking you if you are picking up your child at 12 on Friday to eat and dress up at home or if your child will be staying at school for the entire day.
Those students staying at school all day will be changing into our costumes at 12:45.  The parade will begin at 1:00 and we will have a brief (but fun!) class party afterward.
If you are interested in helping out with the parade or party, please send me an email and let me know!
Please remember, all children must have 12 green days (we began counting the first day of October!) to attend the party.  :)
